#5 When Life Sings The Blues

Join us for an inspiring episode of the Purpose Maker Podcast as we welcome John Stracey, a man whose life is a testament to resilience, passion, and the healing power of music. Hosted by Dr. Wegmann, this episode kicks off with Bob Dylan’s timeless "Blowing in the Wind" setting the tone for a deeply personal and uplifting conversation.

John opens up about his journey through chronic back pain, a struggle that many listeners will relate to, and how chiropractic care, guided by Michael’s expertise, helped him reclaim a full and normal life.

A devoted Manchester City supporter, John shares his love for sport and the joy of witnessing his team’s success over the past 12 years, including their trophy haul—sweet music to any fan’s ears! Growing up in England during the industrial revolution, John’s early years were shaped by daily comic books that fueled his reading skills and sense of humor, thanks to his mother’s wisdom. His education at a Church of England school sparked a lifelong interest in Christianity, with memorable moments like the school pastor’s tribute to Jimi Hendrix in 1970. Music has been the heartbeat of John’s life, leading him to become a Northern Soul DJ in the vibrant 1960s and '70s, a role that ignited his passion for the genre.

John’s dedication to music and the struggling musicians extended to creating the International Blues website to promote the art form, inspiring a Blues journey down the Mississippi. There, he promoted Blues artists in Chicago, Memphis, Nashville and New Orleans.

He met his future wife and built a life rich with history and soul. This episode is a celebration of perseverance, community, and the transformative power of sound. Tune in as John and Michael reflect on life’s lessons, from pain to purpose.
